some more very happy news!

Thank you so much to everyone for congratulating me on my engagement to my sailor! We are both so happy and extremely excited! We cannot wait to be married to each other! :)

Wedding planning is a little stressful trying to plan it around the Navy's schedule, but we are extremely excited to soon be married to each other! I promise when we set a date, I will share! Until then, we are just getting some ideas together of what we want, so that when we can set a date, we won't have to go through the whole process of deciding what we want, we will already have it all planned out. Right now our hope is for the end of this year, while he has about a month or so of leave after his last schooling, but we won't know for sure until about March I think. So, it's gonna be a time crunch but I'm excited and ready to plan my wedding to the man of my dreams! And we do have our theme picked out, which is a winter wonderland, so I'm really excited!! I have some ideas/pictures, so I will definitely share those soon too! Now we're just hoping that it all works out for us! :)

So, my very happy news has to do with my sailor's schooling. Since he is a Nuke, he has 3 six month schools-A School, Power School and Protoype, all 3 of which are in South Carolina-and he is currently 6 weeks away from graduating Power School. His parents and I already have our plane tickets and hotel rooms booked. I cannot wait to see him again so soon! For his last school, Prototype, there is another option of where to do it. Prototype can either be in South Carolina or up in New York state, near Saratoga Springs. We are both from NJ and really hoped that he would be able to go to NY since that would put him only about 3 hours from home instead of 13+.

I'm sure you can see where I am going with this :) Anyway, the first Friday back after Christmas stand down, he got to fill out his "dream sheet" of where he hoped to go for Prototype. We both assumed he wouldn't find out where he was going until right before graduation. Well, he found out the following Wednesday (so a little under a week ago)...HE'S GOING TO NY!!!!!!

We are sooooo beyond excited that he got what he wanted! To have him so close is going to be great! We're so excited to have more time to spend together! And he has 4 of his friends from school also going to NY with him so he's excited to have them there and someone to get an apartment with. He has about a 2 month hold, so he thinks he will start school again at the end of April or sometime in May. If he starts in May, which is what I am hoping, that would be perfect for us and our wedding plans. But, as I keep telling everyone, the first thing on our list of hopes that we had was that he would get to go to NY for Prototype and so far our first wish came true!

We had talked about me moving up there with him, but since I teach and won't be done until June, and then teach a summer enrichment course the month of July, it wouldn't make sense to give up that money, that we want to be able to save. And by the time that I would be able to move up there, he will be in the full swing of schooling, with a very tiring and time consuming schedule, I would be spending most of my time alone. This way, we figured I can still work, he can save some of his BAH by having a roommate, I can still be home to plan our wedding and we can still see each other A HECK OF A LOT more than we do with him in South Carolina!

I'm going to continue to keep my fingers (and toes!) crossed and say my prayers that things continue to work out well, or as well as we can hope they do. Now the next focus is him passing his Power School comps in a few weeks and graduating. He is doing so amazingly well and I am beyond proud of him, so I have all the faith in the world in him. I can't wait to see him again and just be in his arms! So all in all, things are working out exactly as we hoped they would so far!

That's great news. I'm a little over an hour away from Saratoga & my hubby's recruiting office is in Albany! It's a great area! Take a weekend to visit him in the summer and go to the Saratoga Race Course. It's so much fun. :-) Other than the winters, upstate NY is beautiful. :-)
