i miss him already

Ok I'm just gonna sum up my weekend with this sentence. I had the most amazing time with my sailor, fell even more in love with him (if that's possible), and I can't wait until the day I don't have to say "see you later" again. :)

Ok, just kidding. I'm gonna share details! But that does perfectly sum up my weekend :)

I left my house Friday morning around 6am to get to the airport for my 9am flight. Had no problems checking my bag, line at security was awesome, only about 10 people ahead of me, and no problems getting through. My flight ended up getting delayed an hour because they needed to use the original plane for my flight for a different flight (little did I know what was to come Sunday for my return flight, but I'll get to that later lol). So we had to wait for a different plane. I was not too happy because I was so excited and anxious to just be back in my sailor's arms. The good thing was that even with the delay, I still landed in Charleston only 15 minutes later than I was first supposed to, so all was good.

I called my sailor when I landed and when I asked if he was at the airport yet, he told me he was already waiting at the gate for me. I got that excited and nervous first date butterfly jitters. I just wanted off that plane and with my sailor! Well I practically mowed people down trying to get off the plane and through the terminal (I was on a Navy love mission!) and as I came around the corner and through security, there he was, standing in his dress whites, looking all handsome and sexy. Ugh, I practically flew into his arms! It was amazing! :)

He had already gotten the keys to our rental car so we went out to get it and headed to grab some lunch before we could see if we could check into our room early. Lunch was yummy. We went to "our" place, Chili's lol, because it was where we went on our first "official" date in college on Valentine's day. Plus it was on the way to our hotel. After lunch we went to the hotel and thankfully were able to check in early. Let's just say as soon as we got into our room, the "do not disturb" sign went on the door and we didn't leave our room again until we went to the movies that night (saw The Other Guys-HILARIOUS! We loved it!) at the movie theater that was right next to our hotel ;)

Saturday morning we went to the South Carolina Aquarium. We ended up not seeing the parking garage and had to wait in a lot of traffic, which we found out was the line for parking to go on a week Carnival Cruise. Let's just say we both wished we were going on that cruise and were very tempted to do it! The aquarium was fun and really interesting. We both love aquariums and zoo's so we definitely wanted to see it. They had a lot of fish, birds, and turtles. Some random animals too that I wouldn't necessarily expect to see in an aquarium. Here are some pics from our aquarium adventure:

owl (I can't remember what kind this was)

turtle!

HUGE alligator! Glad we had the glass between us!

tortoise

heron (shortly after this it turned and stared at me for like 5 mins)

more turtles! I love them! Used to have one but he got WAY too big and had to give him away :(

 LOBSTER! :)
he was loving the aquarium and it was so cute to watch him get all interested and excited about what we were seeing :)

cool fish
this tank was HUGE! it was 2 floors and really awesome! my sailor was amazed at it
jellyfish and according to the sign these only give a light "tingle" when they touch human skin

 anoter cool fish!

bald eagle that was rescued. her name is Liberty :)

PENGUINS! My other favorites!!!

barn owl

skunks, yes there were SKUNKS at the aquarium! we walked over to them and my sailor goes "what's that smell?" as he asked I looked at the sign and we figured it out. so random at an aquarium!

biggest catfish I have EVER seen! it was HUGE!

old ship that is not a museum. we didn't go though, it was ridiculously hot and humid out!

After the aquarium, we went to this really good place for lunch, a deli that was voted #1 in Charleston. It was so so so so yummy I want to go back! We then went back to the hotel because it was so hot out we were hot, tired and sweaty and just wanted to go back to the hotel to relax and nap (maybe some other things too ;)

We went out to dinner and then went back to the room to just spend more time together. Sunday morning we woke up (he said he would take me somewhere really fancy for breakfast, like Denny's. I laughed so hard because he's so ridiculous!) and he took me onto base because I really wanted to see it and to go to the NEX to get some Navy shirts. I have 3 Navy sweatshirts, 2 of which are his, but didn't have any t-shirts. Got 2 really cute ones, had to stop myself from getting more! Also got a really awesome "I Love My Sailor" decal for my car :) We also went to walk around the outdoor outlets near the airport because we had time to kill before I needed to be at the airport and needed sunglasses.

We then went to the airport and were able to spend a little time together before I had to go through security. Saying "see you later" because it's never goodbye, was so hard. I didn't want to do it, I just wanted to stay with him. I should have because I had nothing good to look forward too. Sat at my gate, only to find out that my plane, that was supposed to leave at 4:30, was now not leaving until 7:17. UGH! Stupid weather at home! I literally almost burst into tears after having to leave my sailor, not loving planes, I just wanted to be home. Well, we boarded at 6:30, and then sat on the plane for 2 hours before we actually took off! We literally told we would take off at 7:17, then 7:26, then around 8, then finally 8:30. After a 2 hour flight, were the woman behind me decided to have an anxiety attack/breakdown on the pane because of the lightening you could see in the distance, I just wanted to be home in my bed. Finally got in to my house at around 11:30. Longest day and I was exhausted.

I absolutely loved spending time with my sailor, as I always do. It was so amazing to be able to fall asleep with him, wake up in his arms, hold his hand while just walked around. I soaked up every second we spent together, and we literally spend every second together :) We did a lot more talking about our future and now have a "date" set for our wedding (even though I don't have the ring yet. Every time he asked me if I was having a good weekend and I told him it was perfect he always responded with "well almost perfect, since I didn't get to give you what I wanted to give you." He was so cute about it, thinking that I just spending time with him wasn't perfect, which to me it is). Anyway, it's looking like January 2012 with when he will start/graduate his last school, he should be done the end of Dec. 2011/Jan. 2012. We are super super excited!! Won't be able to officially pick a date until it gets closer, but so excited that we "planned" a time! Makes me super happy! We did a lot of talking about the wedding and stuff, it was so great to talk about it in person and see how excited he was about it! I keep telling him he makes me the luckiest girl in the world :)

I'll leave my ridiculously long post with this. He called me earlier and as soon as I said hello he told me, "I booked a plane ticket, put a deposit on an apartment, found a judge that is willing to marry us short notice and a podiatrist." When I asked why a podiatrist he said "because I can't marry you unless you take care of your stinky feet!" He is ridiculous, goofy, dorky, funny and adorable and I am absolutely head over heels in love with him! And I told him I do not have stinky feet!

It sounds like you had such an amazing weekend together! Before my husband and I got married, we dated long distance for 6+ years, so I know how amazing it is when you get the chance to be together. I cherished those visits SO much.

You actually came to where we are stationed... we live in the Charleston area! Is your Sailor a Nuke, too?

Yup he is! He's currently on t-track waiting for Power School to start in a few weeks. What about your hubby?
And yeah we've been together almost 5 years, the majority of which has been long distance, so any and every time spent together is amazing! :)

(P.S. Thanks Delainey, your comment totally made my day!)

Nicole,

I wish him lots of luck for Power School! Leo (my husband) is almost finished with Power School (he'll be graduating next Friday). He's hardly ever home because he's been doing so much studying for his upcoming exams. After that he'll be on t-track again!

How often do you get to come down and visit him?

Congratulations to him on (almost) graduating Power School! It's a great accomplishment! And thank you, I've heard how much work it's going to be, and how much less I'll get to talk to him, but it's what he has to do so I'll support him every step of the way! :)

I've only been down twice so far, this past time and once in April. He was home in July on leave. I'm hoping to go down at least once more before graduation, which I will DEFINITELY be going to!

Glad you'll get some time back with him since he'll be on hold for Prototype! Do you get to stay in SC or are you heading up to NY?
